So I caught the plague...
Sep. 22nd, 2007 09:40 amAnd apparently the plague is conducive to reading as I finished all of the Harry Dresden File books I could get my hands on 4-8 and Sunshine by Robin Mckinley (good book btw....vampire with skin the color of old mushrooms. That description was all I needed to have to know that the book was going to be interesting) and most importantly, I finished my first Terry Pratchett novel eva!!!!!!!!!!!
The Colour of Magic was interesting. If I had not known how much better the series was going to get, by word of mouth and
pyratequeen's assurance, I might not have been impressed. However, there are some moments of pure brilliance in the first of the Discworld novels, one of them being the spoof of Faffyd and the Grey Mouser from the Lankhmar books by Leiber. Genius. Plus Death. ZOMG Death. Love. So while the books was not the best thing I've ever read, Discworld is win and I can't believe I didn't try this series sooner. My life always felt like it was missing something and I believe Discworld has filled that void. How shall I say, the world is a little more octarine now.
