D&D getting science-y and ludology

I've sunk to a new level in dorkdom. I'm now reading a book that is a cultural study of tabletop roleplaying games. That's right, they're studying D&D as a social phenomena. And I'm gonna read about it. 

For those of you who are curious the book is titled: Gaming As Culture. 

Also, ludology, the study of gaming. Lol. If you're a dork cuz you're a gamer, what does that make you if you're the guy studying gamers?
