In further news, my copy of the first "Saint Seiya" collection came in the mail. I started watching it last night, and while I still have so much love for this anime, it's not quite the same without the weird and slightly dizzying DiC dub (although, without it there is substantially more feeling of, you know, story and what not). I must admit, I miss the surfer dude with a 'tude Hyoga and find the ADV dub actor to have made him kinda snivel-y. And I kinda liked DiC's reason for Hyoga entering the Galactic War better. I'm lazy so I don't relate all that well to characters who do things just to excel or beat people. That being said, Illich Guardiola plays Seiya, and this is love, mostly because now, when I drift off to sleep, I find that sometimes I think I hear Gojyo screaming about armor and pegasus meteors and this makes me smile. Long live Illich Guardiola; I find that I love a character so much more when he voices them.
Drizzt Do'Urden is my first fangirl love
Jan. 23rd, 2008 01:49 pmDudes, I have just pre-ordered Salvatore's next installment in the "Legend of Drizzt" series. "Pirate King" will hopefully fill the dark elf shaped void in my reading life. Hopefully fill it with pirates and elves and pirates, that is. And mayhap a Deudermont? Oh I hope so. God, it really is like waiting for Christmas.
