Whoo hoo! Swords And Deviltry  by Fritz Leiber came today. I have been waiting all week for this book. It's one of those series that keeps coming up in the "you should read this" category when I read other people's blogs or author's lists of their favorite books. I am totally for a series with a main character called the Grey Mouser. I have already been forwarned that there are no interesting females and if a woman and or girl shows up she's either or whore or a mother or some other female cliche. Which I can deal with, considering the book was written in 1970. As long as the main characters are interesting, all will be well. I hope this book is as good as reviewers said it was, because I have really been craving a fantasy novel for awhile. Lately, it seems I have only been reading non-fiction and manga.  I shall let you all know if it is!

Make sure you blog about it, as no interesting females and if a woman and or girl shows up she's either or whore or a mother or some other female cliche means I most likely wouldn't be able to read it, but I like reading what you post about books.

I shall. I'm not bothered by lack of female characters, but I know you are, so that's why I warned you just in case you were interested.

I much appreciate the warning. I am sad when I see stuff that sounds really good, but end up frustrated because I can't identify with/can't stand any of the characters.

Yeah, it was popping up a lot on people's blogs so I thought I would check it out. It sounds pretty interesting and as I said, a character called the Grey Mouser has my vote. Plus Fritz Leiber wrote "Our Lady Of Darkness" which was pretty good.

I've never read any of his Grey Mouser books, but I've been meaning to, since my favorite RPG author (Clint Nixon) cites him as a major source of inspiration. I did love Our Lady of Darkness and Conjure Wife.

"Our Lady of Darkness" was such a lovely, dark book. I enjoyed it greatly as well :).
