Pray for me. The child that I made read The Giver has returned. And has really read it. Now, as promised, I must read his book of choice....little bastard really knows how to twist the knife in. I offer him fine children's literature and he offers me Darkblade: Daemon's Curse (Warhammer). Which, um, is a book series based off of a video game I was not particularly fond of. I looked the title up on Amazon and it has a really, really high rating, unfortunately all of the reviewers either seem to be eleven or brain dead fanboys who think that R.A. Salvatore is the height of really great fantasy writing and that Robert Jordan really does write just like Tolkien. ::sighs:: Well, at least it's about a dark elf.

Yes, I shouldn't complain too much........at least it's fantasy........and has a dark elf.......that rides what looks like a T-Rex mixed with the rancor from Star Wars.

Wait.. what is a rancor?
You should be glad for dark elves and fantasy and not 300 pages v.v

Argh, Robert Jordan. No one ever told him that it should be quality over quantity, not the other way round, right? He's the reason why I tend to be wary of fantasy written by men. (Though, that is rather misandrist. David Weber, Robert Jordan and R. A. Salvatore have a lot to answer for, but so do Elizabeth Haydon and Misty Lackey.)

Hehehe, I must say, at one point I was gaga over every single one of those writers.......but then I grew up and so did my standards, although, secretly, in a part of me that I don't want to admit exists, I still love the R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt series (hence you know darkelf105 and all) but I usually just pretend that I don't.....I totally don't have the next one pre-ordered or anything, nope not me......okay, I do, I can't help it, even though I KNOW that it's going to be bad, it's also going to hurt so good, the a toothache (which is also a fine excuse for calling off work). RAS, purveyor of crappy writing but also creator of dark elf hotties with panthers in their pockets...everyone loves a man with a panther in his pocket ;). I'm such a dork.
