Books! Once A Princess
Jun. 2nd, 2009 04:38 pmI started Sherwood Smith's Once A Princess today. Yay! This cures the recent spate of books I've started in which there are no adult women or there are and they are awesome but they disappear and/or are kidnapped ::looks sternly at the copy of The Alchemyst sitting at my desk waiting to be processed as a library donation::.
But this book, it has pirates AND awesome moms and their grumpy, HAWK-NOSED (I have a thing for hawk-nosed characters...yes, it is because Ged from Earthsea had a hawk-nose) daughters, who fight and are competent but are not awesome god-like in any way and Yes, yes, yes! I really, really like pretty much everything in this book...I only have fifteen more pages and I am finished. Very, very glad that I bought the sequel.
I have been looking for a book like this for awhile.
Thank you
meganbmoore for the recommendation.
