Talked to another human being lately? I'm serious. You value knowledge above ALL else. You love new ideas, and become very excited over abstractions and theories. The fact that nobody else cares still hasn't become apparent to you...

Nerd's a great word to describe you, and I seriously couldn't care less about the different definitions of the word and why you're actually more of a geek than a nerd. Don't pretend you weren't thinking that. You want every single miniscule fact and theory to be presented correctly.

Critical? Sarcastic? Cynical? Pessimistic? Just a few words to describe you when you're at your very best...*cough* Sorry, I mean worst. Picking up the dudes or dudettes isn't something you find easy, but don't worry too much about it. You can blame it on your personality type now.

On top of all this, you're shy. Nice one, wench. No wonder you're on OKCupid!
Now, quickly go and delete everything about "theoretical questions" from your profile page. As long as nobody tries to start a conversation with you, just MAYBE you'll now have a chance of picking up a date. But don't get your hopes up.

I am interested though. If a tree fell over in a forest, would it really make a sound?

Well, I have been thinking about reading "The Lost Girls" by Alan Moore for some time now, except at Borders I found a set that had the wrapper taken off and flipped through the art and on first impression found it, well, garish. I did not, however, look closely at it nor for an extended period of time. Upon further research on the internetz I have discovered that it is supposed to be stylistically like that of Victorian art, which now makes sense. I have heard so many great things about these comics/books that I am really, really interested in them. Unfortunately, their price tag has been a bit of a set back. So then I got curious, and yes, I can order the set through Clevenet. Do you know how awesome that is? I can get erotic comics delivered to my local library, read them, and then decide if I want to buy. I am very happy that Ohio isn't as censorious as I had originally thought. I remember the shit hitting the fan for awhile when Cleveland decided to add some yaoi (and tame yaoi at that) to their collection. I wish I could find the website of the outraged mother because that was good for some laughs. I know that our branch still dances around the issue and I am afraid to put something that is shonen-ai (if people still use that term for boy's love) like "Loveless" on the shelf. That's tame. Well, kinda creepy what with the whole twenty year old who has a crush on a twelve year old. But good. I love me some "Loveless". Hell, I have extra copies of "Saiyuki" I want to donate, and those just have hints of man-love in them (all for the better because the characters are great)but I am nervous, mainly because I don't want to hear it. But I feel bad because, you know what, the kids read the manga, and those are some of the most popular titles and what the hell do I care about what a few people in the reading public find offensive. That's between the kids and their parents. And they ARE rated and.....arghhh, I am about to rant about censorship again, so I will just stop. If you know me, you know I am anything goes, don't care, don't put my reading and viewing level with that of a child's, blah blah blah....ya know the typical liberal spiel. Anywho I know I owe all of you a book review of John Connolly's "The Book of Lost Things" but I wanted to quote Harold Bloom and Bruno Bettelheim and cannot find
either of their books, which is to say the least, annoying.

Just so all of you who have been wondering breathlessly where the hell I put my copies of Harold Bloom's "How To Read And Why" and Bettelheim's "The Uses of Enchantment", they are in my desk drawer at work. Le sigh. Now I can write the book review I promised I would write......maybe.
