Finished Cast in Secret. I love this series, it's so solid. I noticed that I have only Cast in Fury and Cast in Silence and then there is apparently no more? Which breaks my heart. I hope Cast in Silence isn't the last title of this series, because I'd read this till I was seventy, really. I just love the world building and characters and, well, it resonates with me and hits soooooooooo many of the things I love in fantasy.

This one made me especially happy because, woah, telepaths that I liked, a lot. And yay, Tiamaris was back, even if it was just for a minute or two.


Nightshade needs to GTFO because he gives me the creeps. But yay, five pages of Andellen and five pages of Teela, which is much better than none!


Can't wait to go home to start reading Cast in Fury.

I was weirded out when I learned a lot of people shipped Kaylin with Nightshade, and then I realized that it followed normal shipping practices.

I honestly forget about him when he isn't around or mentioned.

I do too. And I mean, when he's around, he is an incredibly interesting character, but one that I would never in any way, ever, relate to. Or feel bad for. Or like more than a little because he is not really a character capable of any type of freely given kindness. He and Kaylin shouldn't be OTP. With a character like Nightshade it can only end in horror and blood.

I don't really ship anyone so much in series, but wouldn't be unhappy if Kaylin ended up with Severn...although I still don't know what to make of him, because, well, he's also a child killer.

.....but, I guess, Kaylin + Ybelline= Unlikely in any way whatsoever, but awesome nevertheless.

I love Ybelline. I rarely like the whole peaceful, hippy telepaths trope, but Sagara did the Tha'aalani so well, that I think they may be my favorite race after the Leontines and Dragons. I dunno, her world is just so gosh darn awesome and ranking stuff seems silly to me cuz I like all of it. Except for Nightshade, because he's a creeper.
