Why is all the Kaylin gone.

darkelf105Finished Cast in Silence. Am now in the moody, "Oh geez, nothing will ever be as good as this series, therefore I have nothing to read, wah!" state. I noted that there will be another book, but it is not out yet and not available for pre-order. THIS IS NOT COOL. But, I'll live.
Tiamaris is a fieflord. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!! He won't be in adventures anymore! He'll be like Nightshade's cooler, sorta nicer more draconian brother. This is in one respect awesome because now when the Hawks must go to the fiefs, at least they have another option besides the truly creepy, truly scary Nightshade. Speaking of Nightshade, he still needs to GTFO, but his nicer (relatively), more smiley, younger self can stay. I agree with Kayling, I like him better. Current Nightshade seems pretty much incapable of any act of freely given kindness. Younger Nightshade seems like he could. Like he's doesn't have so much to lose. Plus, he's funnier. And now, despite my serious dislike of the creeper, I wanna know what happened.
The bit with Tara was fantastic. I love how Kaylin sorta uses her power to rewrite things and prove that stuff doesn't have to be the way it is. I loved her definition of love and everything she told the Tower. I also love that she stole Nightshade's ruined cloak. It was my favorite part of the book; I laughed really loud and scared the cat. Speaking of Nightshade's ruined cloak, I have a feeling that is why I like his younger self better. His cape got stuck in a door. Take that Nightshade. Not so perfect now, are ya, punk?
I really, really love Sagara's dragons. Tiamaris is my favorite character because the thought of that prim, proper, obviously intelligent dude as somehow the dragon version of a reckless, impetuous wild-child is hilarious. I also like that all of Sagarra's immortals, though fascinating, are really, really scary under the surface.
But still, best part of the book, Kaylin stealing Nightshade's cloak. Oh and Severn cracked some jokes and that was pretty awesome, too.
