Okay, Nicky. Ryan says that the image coloring looks great, but somewhere some of the line got crossed and now the picture looks less "dynamic" or whatever, and since he is LJ illiterate, here ya go

This image is the curve of her body marked in red. He is right, the way it's colored now makes her torso look weird and static.

And here's where the cloak should be, see where you have chain mail and such....it should really be the fabric of the cloak

I had picture of where it should be colored but my computer is being dumb.  Everything that is behind the sleve fabric and the arm an is chain mail colored should be cloak colored.

Good Job! The legs were originally suposed to be bare as homage to Heather Morris (silent Hill 3) who I use for inspiration for this character's personality, but she is a warrior (archer/stealthy) so chain leggings work. It is elven chainmail so it is form-fitting kinda like a wetsuit. The colors seem a bit uniform at first. Her belt is made of metal and the stone on the buckle should be a different color than that grey-green color. The portion of the belt that comes down from the part that goes around her waste is the scabbard (sword sheath) so it is made of leather and the colors are fine. Remember that her midrif(spell) and legs are in mithiral chainmail so when you finish the colors make sure that they have a silver sheen to them.

I told you. No bare legs unless you are making like, I dunno, a not serious warrior character. You wouldn't not wear pants, so why would a warrior chick not wear pants? Besides, if she's a stealthy character, all that bare flesh would get ripped to shreds as she runs around sneaking and crawling and what not. Also, yes we have men that are unrealisticall bishie, but they wear CLOTHES, BUT they are magic flingers for the most part...and Altaris doesn't count cuz your butler absolutely MUST be sexy.... and also, I am fond of bishies, and men can be sexy without becoming just sex...and we have lots of other men who HAVE different body types and looks so it's not like there is just bishies..and we have NO females that have different body types, so yes, absolutely, if their are no chubby chicks, no super skinny chicks, no stocky chicks, than the least we can do is give them clothes.....it is much harder to do that with girls because usually in fantasy genres that's what they are relegated to anyway. Besides, Zephyr is HAWT without being undressed. So establish them as characters before you start removing clothes.

I just hope you realize that I don't exactly know how to do chainmail. Especially since I have seen it all of maybe once. I'll have to look online and see if there are some tutorials or something. But it'll probably look really weird.

Actually I don't think that looks half bad.

Me neither, but Ryan is going to tell you this, so I will too, the pattern should be smaller. Chainmail links are small and round and elven chainmail more so.

Actually I found a picture of real chain mail and played with it in photoshop a bit for the picture. I combined the picture with some stuff in the tutorial by Gold-Seven (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/20409751/) I thought the links were a little too large as well though. I can't use actual little circles because it ends up looking funny. Image(Like Leopard-print more then chain mail.)

True true. Heh, the way she draws chain mail is the way I do it, too. Would it be helpful if on the other pictures I went through and hand inked chainmail on?

Actually probably not. I just didn't know the legs were supposed to be chainmail. With a little tweaking I should be able to do it quickly and easily in photoshop, whereas if you hand draw it, I would either have to re-ink or digitally ink it. Also while the hand-done looks really well in her pictures, she has practiced it quite a bit and knows where to put the shadows and lights, and I don't. In photoshop I can always just delete the layer or change the opacity. If I mess up inking by hand though, it ruins the whole picture.

Thank you. Please check out the chain mail when you get a chance.

I did, links need to be smaller. Maybe you could reduce the pattern size? But I think that it's a very good start.

I am trying to reduce it right now.

A 50% reduction in size makes what almost looks like denim. As you can see here, where I overlapped the two sets of links. Image

Whereas these are slightly larger.

the top pattern is pretty damn close. I'll have Ryan take a loot at it when he comes to get me for lunch. Woot, you rock!

Thank you. I actually like the bigger links myself, but I'm not the designer, so I guess that doesn't mean much. I'm going to print out Kimi before work so I can work on it tonight.

MORE!

Elven chain mail is supposed to be so finely woven that it appears to be fabric. This, added with some enchanting, causes it to be form-fitting and very light. I will show you a picture from the DM's guide that I always used as a reference. Technically, the mail should look like the 50% reduction. I must admit, however, that from an art standpoint, it makes little sense. I would like to see her whole midriff and legs with the texture at all three sizes along with the highlighting technique that you used so that the area has some definition and doesn't just look like wallpaper.

Because the links remind me of basket weaving. Did you just find a pattern online?

No I made my own pattern from a piece of chainmail. Of course now I cannot find the link either.
