I just finished Zombie Powder, because you gave it to me and I need to give it back.
I still have to read all of the petshop of horrors I have, Rg Veda, Qwan, wish, and Faeries Landing. Then also the stories for ficton class. for real books I have The Jungle Books, some Jack London, and some Washington Irving.

Also do you like cottage cheese and/or yogurt?

on 2007-03-25 06:14 pm (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] darkelf105.livejournal.com
Erm, not really. Cottage Cheese is okay with fresh fruit in it and I only like the yogurt that isn't fat free or sugar free as the fake would get on my tongue.

I wouldn't give you just plain cottage cheese XD
I just noticed a lot of the boxes have a creamy type thing like that, and while I personally won't eat either, I thought you might.

Yogurt is okay. I like the cheesecake and chocolate yogurt....I hate fake sweet stuff. Hey, wanna hang out tonight, I am feeling much better after my day of sleep and rest. I still have a horrible sinus headache, but it's nothing I can't ignore.

What time and what did you have planned to do. I know my mother said it is my crazy aunt's birthday so we are going out to Mindy's for dinner. I highly doubt they would miss me, but I still would have to check with mom.

Five o'clock and I was thinking Mindy's and D&D.

Aww, boredom blows. I'm looking for a distraction, but I don't feel like doing anything :P
Me wants to join the rest of the world and read zee harry potter books, cause Alan Rickman is a sexy old bastard and the movies are not enough. The book will lack that seductively deep and raspy voice, but with no pictures I will have the advantage of my evil imagination! heehee ;D

Aww yes, the hotness that is Snape is undeniable. The first two books are kinda boring, but god, the series really, really takes off with the third one. I highly recommend them :).

Now is a perfect time to start reading them. With book seven coming soon you will not go through much withdraw when you finish Half Blood Prince

ooo, there was a community er something spotlighted not TOO long ago that was gonna start posting like 2 chapters a day er something of harry potter, and finish all the books by the time the new one comes out. I shoulda joined it or watched it cause I don't remember what it was called, and now I can't find it. I don't have the books and I'm lazy, so if anybody knows what I'm talking about, Donna would be very happy if you shared that info

Oh, I'm on the comm. It's read_hp (http://community.livejournal.com/read_hp/profile), but they don't post the chapters of the book. Just a discussion thing every day at 5:00 pm. I haven't really been following it as I have been super busy for school (and I really don't care for the first two books so much.)

Dude, I will fangirl Drizzt until the Apocalypse. I mean if it came down to saving the Gutenberg Bible or the last remaining paperback of "Homeland", I must say, I would say screw Western Civilization and save Drizzt.

LOL. And then civilization would survive with every writer using the word stoic. It would be great!

There was a stoic elf and he walked a stoic mile,
He found a stoic sixpence upon a stoic stile.
He bought a stoic cat, which caught a stoic mouse.
And they all lived together in a little stoic house

on 2007-03-25 07:45 pm (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] darkelf105.livejournal.com
And we all lived stoicly ever after.

I wish I had musical talent because I would have an ode to drizzt.

Isn't he byronic, don't ya think?
A little bit too byronic...

It's like 10,000 orcs when all you need is a life.
thinking, what word do I use? But knowing stoic is rife.

Yeah so it's a stretch, but I am too lazy to look up real rhyming words now.

That's the Drizzt book we got you so you will know what's going on in D&D. That's the title of the first book in the series.

It's okay :). Just make sure you start, because you have two more to read in the series. Ryan says that you will like them. He kinda wants you to read another series as well so that you will be lost, but I think the dark elf trilogy will be more than sufficient :).

Sorry to hear about the boredom (You should be home by the time this is posted).

What I'm currently reading:
Bridge of Birds; because I was told to read it.
The Magic Lotus Lantern; Chinese folk tales and stories. Quite interesting.
The Oxford History of Ireland; because I know nothing about the Irish Civil War in the 1920's.
Lucky Child, by Loung Ung. She also has another book, "First They Killed My Father." Both have to do with her experiences in Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge.
For One More Day, by Mitch Albom. Because I own and have read his other books, and this one looks to be as powerful.
Hiroshima's Shadow, edited by Kai Bird. I've had this out of the library for a couple months now. Contains letters and documents from a lot of people regarding the US dropping of the bomb on Japan. It's from the point of view that the bombing wasn't necessary. Not something that is taught in school.

I can't think of anything else off-hand, although I'm sure there are a couple of things I've forgotten.

Since it has been many years since I've read Salvatore's books, I'm obviously missing something. What is the joke?

Posted by [identity profile] rayechu.livejournal.com
In one of the Salvatore books he uses the word "stoic" a lot. It is just to the point of ridiculousness and now whenever we hear stoic we giggle. Drizzt is pretty much by definition a byronic hero so that is where that comes from. (We make fun of him for being emo.)
::sigh:: You are reading real books, and when you are done with Hiroshima's Shadow, you should watch Grave of the Fireflies.

Also, how are you liking Bridge of Birds?

Oooo, The Magic Lotus Lantern sounds cool, as does the Oxford History of Ireland. I am curious, how are you liking Bridge of Birds?
