In an attempt to keep my writerly skills sharp, I am giving a call for short stories.  If you would like me to write something for you. I shall do it. Provide me the details. I'll let you know when I'm starting it, in what order the stories shall be done and when to expect it. The only things you cannot request are fan fic or Shasta and Hanali as I have my plate full with them already.  So, ask away. I will be sad if I get no prompts from you guys :).

No Shasta and Hanali, and no Fanfic? But I would have requested Cont of Monte Cristo Eugénie fic.
I don't know exactly what I am supposed to request then! Am I allowed to get something with Nix? Because a short Nix/Drizzle thing would be cool.

Uh.....I dunno.
Artemis and Fang?
Snarky unicorns?
A story inspired by The Nightingale or Swan Lake?

Well, I suppose I should have been more clear. The post was for the kinds of stories you would like to see but usually don't. Or have been have a jones for. I just need you to flesh out your ideas a little more. The Nightingale or Swan Lake one seems promising. What would you like to see?

=/ I am not very good at explaining what I want to see mainly because I don't really know myself. You know I like elves, fantasy, unicorns, etc. I have really been looking for some more girl disguised as boy- stuff as it is common in manga/anime but not so much in books. I like a touch or romance, but not a full blown relationship with happy endings.

I have no clue how you would do anything with the Nightingale story, but do you think you could play with Swan Lake a bit and maybe merge it with some other fairytale stuff. Maybe Odile and Odette aren't in so much competition, as they were sisters and one went looking for the other after they disappeared. Or one has it worse than the other or something, and they have to kill Von Rothbart before he can seize control of his nephew's kingdom? But make Rothbart a little more like Bluebeard, but instead of killing girls he has rooms and rooms of birdcages?
I don't know, I'm not good at this kind of thing.

We shall see :). I will start working on a Swan Lake story for you. Expect it sometime in June as you are the first one to ask :).

Sweet. I'd really be happy with anything that you wrote me but Swan Lake is a childhood favorite. And I know you won't end it with the power of love and all that jazz. (Hell I actually like the ending where the Prince chooses Odile, and Odette just leaves.)

But I like the Prince and Odette... *sniff*

Nightingale

Oooh, I forgot that death was a character, so maybe if you had a Prince, a girl servent withing the palace who wanted to be a bard and that disguised herself as a boy, because she wasn't allowed to play or something, who is then found out by another performer,(prince/servant who is a boy and maybe (A masked red) death. Since she is a wanderer she hears things, and sneaks back to protect her king and family? Or something like that.

Death as a character in which of the stories? Nightingale or swan lake? I haven't much experience with either, so I'd have to look them both up.

Lol. I put Nightingale in the title, so as not to confuse you but I still did. Death comes in the Nightingale story at the very end, and is driven away by the real, banished, nightingale.

I am going to look into Swan Lake, Nightingale and Masque of the Red Death and see what my frenetic brain comes up with.

I know you like:

Girls who dress like boys
Implied relationships
Animals
Magic
Snark

anything else? And since I have always liked the idea of Death as a character, we shall see what we do with that.

I know you like death as a character, that's why I went "oooh" when I remembered it.

I like some brooding/gloominess, (After all I am not a happy smiley person) but not really EMO, either. I like characters that are bookish, and a little nerdy, as well as characters that simply kick ass. I like written food descriptions, even of foods I don't like. Nice clothes, royalty, dark hair, transformations are really cool, but it would be better if the enchantment doesn't end, light/dark conflict, characters with an edge, supernatural stuff, and swordfighting.

Things I don't like:
Straight up mystery (though I would read yours)
guns
modern settings
old, wise man archetype
healing magic for girls

Listen to Whisper from Evanescene while thinking about Mask of the Red Death.
Seriously.
The song fits.
And who knows, it may provide inspiration.

Sooooooo here's an idea: A freak rip in the space-time continuum magically transports Sephiroth to Columbus, OH in the year 2007. He finds himself lost at night in a large field of grass and trees, with tall brick buildings in the distance. Unfathomably horny as hell from the journey, he swiftly prowls through the trees to the edge of a pond. He spots a cute little redhead in a stylish black trench coat, unsuspectingly feeding the ducks. In a rage of lust, he grabs the girl, retreats into the darkness and has his way with her! They have wild hot sex for hours and hours, knock over a Jimmy Johns, go to an Otep concert at Newport Hall, then head back to the girl's dorm, kick out her adorable roommate, and fuck so loud and obnoxiously, the bitches in the room upstairs can't sleep.

It's an instant New York Times best seller, for reals! ;P

Question, what do you mean by "short" story. How Long? because if you a writing more than 2 pages then just scratch my request. I'd rather not bother your time with something that weird if you have to put more than 1 page of thought and coordination.

on 2007-04-23 03:32 am (UTC)
Posted by [identity profile] darkelf105.livejournal.com
It's okay :). I actually have an idea of what to do and have a plot outlined for you. I was thinking more like six or seven pages, which for me, isn't very much at all. So do you still want one? I could write you a story in two, but it wouldn't be very good. You're idea has merit now that I know you are serious. Unless of course you have something else in mind and in that case let me know.

yeah, go ahead. 6 or 7 is reasonable. I did have 2 other things in mind. One of which I already tried (a story about a guy who kills pimps) and failed horribly. The Other I just started working on yesterday.

I will seriously write you a yaoi if that is what you want :). I will not, however, turn it in as she already hates me and I skipped a bunch of class so I would rather not piss her off more.

LMAO. Well I skipped yesterday.
Nothing happened... well to me anyway.

Ah well.
Yay! Write me a yaoi!

Yuuko is almost Hanali...if Hanalali drank alot and was, you know a witch....plus I think Hanali would feel bad if, you know she ever screwed Shasta over....I don't think Yuuko would...she'd probably do it on purpose. Which means that as fond as I am of Yuuko, I like Hanali better :).

Oh me too, but it is pretty much the closest thing I have to a Hanali icon right now. I think Yuuko's alcohol obsession could be easily switched for Hanali's cookies. Lol. Can you imagine them meeting in some alternate universe? Yuuko would most certainly have a bad influence on Hanali and poor Watanuki would have to bake a lot of cookies.
