Queen of Attolia---Megan Whalen Turner
Jul. 9th, 2009 04:41 pmSo I finished Queen of Attolia last night. Oh my god, guys, it was fabulous! I haven't been this excited about a series in awhile. The characters are perfect, the pacing is perfect, the plotting is perfect, everything pretty much tickles my fancy. I'm not going to go into too much more detail because I think you should read the series without knowing too much. If you know too much, it spoils Ms. Turner's cleverness. I just, I was so heartsick with the opening of the novel...but I suspected! Oh I suspected! The queen! Gen! Oh my suspicions were right and it was awesome.
Plus, did I mention that Eugenides is now one of my favorite thiefy characters and that Irene is one of the best developed queeny characters I've had the pleasure to read about? Just fabulous.
This book couldn't have been any more perfect, even if it had elves doing the conga and ninjas with jet packs.
