In light  of learning that the school around here are cutting back novel reading in English class to focus more on the battery of standardized tests that pass for Emperor Bush's education reform, here is a brief article about schools and librarians. I must, on the whole, say DUH.  But more importantly, there are schools....without libraries...and a librarian....for shame America.

Hmm St. Anthony's did have a library (though it was rather small) but I believe the librarian was just a lady from the church and not a real librarian. If she was I never had her suggest books or anything actually useful to me. I think this is pretty important but I wonder how some of the really conservative private schools will respond. I have seen some of the library blog stuff about not being able to assign/recommend certain books.
