Life happens, son
Apr. 9th, 2008 07:12 pmWow. We have been so freaking busy today. It's like everyone in SoLo has discovered they have a public library. On the plus side, I got some one to pick up some Forgotten Realms novels (and no they weren't Drizzt; I read other things, too, thank you), however, the negative being, some one has just pulled all of the videos off the children's shelving units and the book drop smells weird...I hope no one dropped eggs in it again.
Today was almost a wreck. I have been planning a manga program with the theme ninja vs pirates for awhile. It's genius; practically sells itself, really. For the ninja nin I picked Naruto, for the pirates, One Piece. Both of them are popular, both of them are on cartoon network. I can get the anime, too. Brilliant, right? Whelp, got on SIRSI today and looked up the first volume of Naruto to order....and much to my horror, there are, between all forty some libraries in the system, only two copies. TWO COPIES! There was much whining and flailing on my part. I had to rework the whole damn thing because I couldn't think of anything else with ninjas in it that we has enough copies of. Tried Tail of the Moon. Only two copies. Could think of nothing else ninja fantastic enough. So now it's soul reapers vs samurai here at South. Which is a relief, kinda. I have read and watched both Bleach and Peace Maker. I have not read One Piece or Naruto. This may work out a little better.
However, despite the ruination of my marketing genius, within twenty minutes of putting up my sign, three children signed up. This is awesome for a South. I'm very excited.
Here's a poem for today:
Dust of Snow
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
