Comic stuff
Jun. 5th, 2008 05:42 pmSo despite needing waaaaaaaaaay more work and some touching up in Photoshop, I've decided to share the Broken Lands character images I scanned in today.

Here is Captain McFlinty. He's a kitsune and he's a pirate. He happens to be one of my favorite creations. He's adorable, no?

This one is a lovely view of our main character Shasta Daisy's backside as he epically fights a necromancer. In our D&D game Shasta totally killed the mofo.....and ended dropping the carcasses of both the necromancer and his mount on the head of our nearest human allly, the King of Lascony. Shasta Daisy is an unfortunate soul, despite being one of the favorites of the Gods of Luck. His dice never got the memo.
And here are the boys that make up the main characters in the first arc of the story. From left to right is Captain McFlinty, Shasta Daisy the Cry Baby (only looks menacing with that spear. In all actuality if there were real enemies he'd be on the ground crying) and Khale our dark elf rogue. He gets into more trouble than he's worth.

on 2008-06-06 03:07 pm (UTC)I very glad you liked our character designs, rough as they are. Shasta and company started out as D&D characters. They just sorta took on a life of their own and were so damn fun to play that we decided they needed a story of their own to share with others. And the comic seemed like the best format. I tried to write short stories for them but they fell apart because I just couldn't get into the groove. There's half of a short story floating around my writing journal and it's not so good :(. But the comic format seems to be working well as most things are explained because it's visual. I don't need to keep refering to the characters' races because, well it's obvious what they are.
Our art is as of right now the weakest part of our endeavor.
