I am in love with Sappho. I just wish that languages didn't come so hard for me because I would love to be able to read the Greek in the book I have. But, so is life. At least the self-taught Latin is going better. I can sit down with semi-complex stuff and with time and a dictionary have a fair understanding of the text. Just don't ask me to translate, as I am inelegant at best.

Also, Doctor Who is very good thus far. [livejournal.com profile] rokk_lobster and I have finished the complete first series (at least that's what the box says) and eagerly await the second.

Now to read manga and get stuff together for my manga program tomorrow night. Hee, we're making ramen.

ooooo....love the new look--pretty.

Hope you get the Christmas Invasion with Series 2--it's kinda important and yet was a special, so not sure if it's included with the box dvds.

hee hee hee. Bad wolf...how do you like that--Rose is her own Deus et Machina, huh? And Jack Harkness...yum.

Lol, thanks. The new look was kinda an accident. I made an LJ community for the kids in my manga and anime club, and while I was fiddling with its look, I accidently changed mine. I was very upset as the former Pip the Frenchmen theme was done by a dear friend (who also looked like she was going to strangle me when she saw what I did), but this new layout has grown on me (reminds me of the best short story I've written in a while). Yay Sappho and night and fireflies? I love fireflies.

As far as Dr. Who goes, I'm also not sure what's on the 2nd box set, but I did see a special boxed set called the Christmas invasion in our card catalog. I ordered it forthwith!

And rose. That was so freaking awesome! I really love her character. And Captain Jack, yum. I totally ordered Torchwood, too.

feh. Torchwood. Don't set the bar too high. I wanted desperately to love it, because I was in love with Jack. And, Jack has made some later reappearances ond Doctor Who where he had his old charm, but I felt like I was watching a different guy with Torchwood. I think the main problem is, they surgically removed his funny bone so he could carry the series as a tragic hero. Big mistake. Funny is sexy. Tragic heroes who are funny are *really* sexy--and suddenly I care about who he might be doing in the basement. Shrug. still freaking disappointed...

AND: Oh, no--Pip can still live in your icons, tho. Right? I do like this look with the color icons. Sappho and fireflies...bliss.(you gonna share? *g)

Oh, that is disappointing about Torchwood. Ryan and I weren't really sure how we felt about Jack, but then we watched that two episode set with the daleks and decided we like him very, very much (although, to be honest, because I am a flake, I was willing to go easy on 'im cuz he was easy on my eyes). Boo about Torchwood. But it's free so, I think I may still watch, but with a tempered heart.

I still have all of my Pip icons :). I got rid of some of the ones from Romeo X Juliet that I don't use so much for my Howl icons. I recently rewatched it and remembered how much I loved it.

And, well, story, er....be nice to one who has not mastered a thing about the art of story writing, but I put on the interwebs awhile ago, so can't precisely take it back. Here be the linky: http://darkelfwrites.livejournal.com/840.html#cutid1

Oh, do watch Torchwood, there are some great moments. It's just not as well crafted (character wise) as Doctor Who. And there is a bit of hawtness and alien fu and Jack dies...a lot. So you can't beat that for sheer WTF-ness (and you have to get to Doctor Who season three to truly understand why).

Thx for the linky...going (lol'g -- *as if* I'm in any position to judge anyone's writing efforts...)

You have Pip in your icon! Awesome.

I don't think S2 is as good as S1 (I kind of have issues with Rose's portrayal) but I do love it dearly. The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit two-parter is absolutely fantastic.
