Haven't posted in awhile. Been kinda busy. Busy watching boxed sets of random things I've found in the library, that is.

Like for instance Romance of Red Dust. This is a show that takes place in Tang Dynasty China. There are multi-parti female assassins who work for this fat man who seems to be Very Bad. There are some angsty looking, gorgeous men with long hair that don't talk much. There are very nice fight sequences. It's wuxia. It's right up my alley. Um, except that the whole thing is filmed in soap opera soft light. You know the technique. The one that gives everything a soft, blurry glow at the edges. Yeah. This is weird. It makes me think "OMG! When's that hunky ER doctor going to tell that comatose chick that he loves her! Look behind the bush, blond haired chick, there's a sinister guy in a leather jacket with a gun! O noes, everyone has amnesia and thinks they're they're their sisters!* Oh wait, this is taking place in Tang Dynasty China, where some of this stuff won't happen but some of it might, with martial arts sequences."**

I've also started to watch Rome. We're not going to talk about Rome for awhile.

And of course, I've been watching S3 of Doctor Who.

I have this to say:

Shakespeare Code has to be my favorite episode of all time. Shouting Harry Potter's signature move, Shakespeare wanting to rip off Eliot, Sycorax being named for the Sycorax. Oh yeahs, baby, it was awesome. Also Martha=the Dark Lady, FTW.

Let's not talk about the two episode set where the Doctor becomes human. He made a lousy, lousy human. I wanted to punch his teeth in, hoped Martha would have because I'm pretty sure Rose would have, was disappointed when Martha didn't punch his face in for what he did to her, and finally was really mad that she wasn't mad at him at all.

Loved the episode with the scary, scary stone angel aliens. That was so awesome it almost made up for the Doctor being a lousy human.

And lastly, Doctor Who is going to get me a speeding ticket. When the show's theme comes on or the Daleks' theme or well, any of it, I just gotta go fast. It helps to maintain the illusion that I'm driving the Tardis, you see.

Here's how my episode on the show Speeders would go: "But officer, I can't slow down. In all actaulity, my car is really a blue box capable of traveling throughout time and space and well, it HAS to go fast. I need to get to the year 1066, stat! I absolutely must see the Norman Conquest for myself and well that requires alot of speed, at least ninety, so if you could...."

"Ma'am, here's your ticket. And, um, have you thought about getting some help? I think you might need some. Have a nice day."

One last thing, I'd really love to know what the hell the Doctor did to Queen Elizabeth I. Wait, if you know, don't tell me.

*These of course being the only things I've seen on a soap opera. In my lifetime, I must admit, I've probably seen about two hours put togethere over twenty-four years.
**It probably is a soap opera in China. In which case, my weirdness is for non.
