...Just tore into a kid in class today about September 11th and Americans' stupid sense of exceptionalism. Everyone in class sorta seemed agast because I'm usually so agreeable, but fuck that shit, this world is messed up and much of the problem is blindness and the myth of Western superiority and the awesomeness of Capitalism As Religion and if you're going to play the game of "Well they hate us because we're so awesome/special/superior/morally superior/the greatest country on the planet" and when you ask "how could some one do such horrible things?" and that is your goddamn answer, well, I am gonna tear your head off. I mean, you actually buy that? You think that's that simple? Pathetic. And people, DO NOT MISTAKE ME, I LOVE THIS COUNTRY, and my goddamn anger stems from my love of this country. I look around at the shithole we've made of things and I think "Well fuck, this is it? this is the best we can do?" We can send a man to the moon on the technology in a hand calculator but the best we can say for ourselves and the world economic system is "Well, everyone deserves to be able to buy whatever they want!" I mean, really? That's your solution? Your freedom? Your justice? This is it? Make more shit? Not, let's reevaluate the whole damn system and think about things with some goddamn historical perspective, yeah I get a little mad. Especially if you are in a class that requires you to change your whole goddamn perspective.
Sorry, just letting it out.
