I want a sci-fi novel?!

I find myself craving space opera...or failing that something spacey with lots of ships and 'splosions and battles. But no aliens. Not in the mood for aliens. Unless of course they are portrayed sympathetically...which they will not...so no aliens. Mmmmmmm, this is weird, I usually have so little interest in science fiction of this kind.


Basically, I want more Toward the Terra, but alas there is no more. Now I will have hunt around the sci-fi section of SoLo, pitiful as it is, and find something.

Have you read Simon R. Green's Deathstalker books? Pure space opera, tons of explosions, very, very few aliens. Once you include the sequel series and the omnibus collecting three short books written in the universe before the main series, you have 9-10 bricks to read through.
